Yako ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Proof of Sport LLC, a Delaware limited liability company based in Santa Barbara, California. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Yako, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in, we collect the email address you provide. We use magic link authentication, so we do not collect or store passwords.

Usage information. As you use Yako, we collect information about your interactions with the service, including:

• Audio clips you play, skip, like, or share
• Topics you filter by
• Sign-in events and session activity
• General device information (operating system, app version) for compatibility

We use this information to personalize your feed, improve the product, and understand how Yako is used in aggregate.

Content you create. If you use Yako features that allow you to add sources or create custom content, we collect and store what you submit.

What we do not collect

• We do not collect your real-time location.
• We do not access your contacts, calendar, photos, or camera.
• We do not collect health, financial, or payment information.
• We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve Yako
• Authenticate your account and send you magic sign-in links
• Personalize the clips and topics shown to you
• Analyze product usage in aggregate
• Respond to your questions or support requests
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
• Comply with legal obligations

Third-party services

Yako uses a small number of trusted third-party services to operate. Information you provide is shared with these services only as necessary:

• Supabase — database hosting and user authentication
• Railway — application hosting
• Resend — transactional email delivery (sign-in links)
• Cloudflare R2 — audio file storage
• ElevenLabs — audio generation (processes source content, not your personal data)
• Anthropic — AI processing for editorial workflows (processes source content, not your personal data)

Each of these services has its own privacy practices, which we have reviewed. We do not share your information with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Your rights and choices

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of information that is inaccurate
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of non-essential email communications

Children

Yako is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@yakonews.com and we will delete it.

International users

Yako is operated from the United States. If you access Yako from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and stored in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in the app. The "Effective" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
